03/11/2021 17:01 h.

The exhibition can be seen in the libraries of Maresme

The exhibition on the Montseny newt 'My name is Calotriton and I only live in Montseny' can be visited until spring 2022 in several municipal libraries in El Maresme. The tour, which includes the municipalities of Tiana, Mataró, Tordera, Masnou, Argentona, Cabrils and Teià, is part of the activities of the programme 'Parcs i biblioteques... naturalment!

The exhibition will show aspects of the biology and ecology of the Montseny newt (Calotriton arnoldi) and disseminate the particularities of this endemic amphibian of the Montseny. It also shows the different actions carried out within the framework of the Life Tritó Montseny project to improve its critical state of conservation. The exhibition consists of nine roll-up panels in Catalan and a scale model of a Montseny newt. It is also accompanied by small panels with texts in Spanish and English.

As part of the proposals of the "Parcs i biblioteques... naturalment!" programme in Maresme, from now until spring 2022 the exhibition can be seen in the following libraries: Can Baratau Library. Tiana (from 1 to 30 September 2021); Pompeu Fabra Library. Mataró (from 1 to 31 October 2021); Tordera Library (from 1 November 2021 to 30 January 2022); Can Coromines Library. El Masnou (from 1 to 28 February 2022); Joan Fontcuberta i Gel Library. Argentona (from 7 to 28 February 2022); Cabrils Library (from 2 to 31 May 2022), and Can Llaurador Library. Teià (from 1 to 30 May 2022).

More than twenty thousand visitors

Since it opened in May 2018, more than twenty thousand people have already been able to visit "My name is Calotriton and I only live in Montseny!", which during three years of itinerancy has been exhibited in thirty municipalities in the counties of Barcelona and Girona, including the eighteen municipalities of the Montseny Natural Park and Biosphere Reserve by the end of the year.

Now, this new tour of the municipal libraries of the Maresme region will give impetus to the dissemination of the reality of the Montseny newt, which will reach a very wide and diverse range of audiences.
