Conference in Canet de Mar

15/11/2019 01:53 h.

In November, the technical conference of the Management of Natural Areas Services was held

On Thursday 14 November, at the Escola de Teixits de Canet de Mar, the conference 'La colaboración publicoprivada en la gestión de espacios protegidos' was held, organised by the Gerencia de Servicios de Espacios Naturales and the Dirección de Servicios de Formación de la Diputación de Barcelona. It brought together about fifty people, including political and technical officials from town councils, county councils and consortia and technical staff working for the management and conservation of natural spaces, land management and the environment.

The event was opened by Josep M. Masvidal, third deputy mayor and councillor for the Environment and Health of Canet de Mar Town Council, and Jordi Padrós, coordinator of Natural Spaces and Forest Fire Prevention of Barcelona Provincial Council, who welcomed the fifty attendees.

Within this framework of conferences, Daniel Guinart, coordinator of the Life Tritó Montseny project, presented the collaboration experience established between the Montseny Natural Park and Biosphere Reserve (included in the Natura 2000 Network) and Nestlé Waters (owner of Agua de Viladrau) to get to know and preserve the water resources of Montseny. David Bonilla, the company's water resources manager, and Daniel Guinart, a biologist at the Natural Park, explained the main actions that are being carried out, together and separately, to maintain the Montseny water in the face of a difficult scenario due to climate change, improving its quality, a key aspect for the preservation of its biodiversity. A large part of these actions are carried out with the collaboration of other agents such as the Catalan Water Agency (ACA) or the owners.

Many more experiences were presented during the conference by various speakers. You can consult and download the link to the program of interventions.

It closed with a debate between all the speakers and the audience moderated -as the whole session- by the technician of the Management of Natural Spaces, Carles Castell.
